Arizona Real Estate Market Not Hot Enough For Author (ContentDesk) November 22, 2004 -- Real estate sales in the Valley of the Sun are booming. Homes are selling fast and for more than their listed price. Fearing a possible downturn in the market in the near future, real estate agents are taking advantage of the market. Many agents work real estate as a part-time venture. Tina McAllister is one of those agents. But unlike other agents who hold down "regular" jobs, Tina juggles her real estate career with her burgeoning career as an author. "If I was smart," Tina says, "I would have written a non-fiction book about real estate." Instead, Tina writes fiction. Her
first book, "Gina Agnes," was released in September and is what she calls "inspirational fiction.""I didn't write it with any genre in mind." Tina explains. "But it's an uplifting sort of story and the setting is a Catholic Church and School for Girls, so the best way I can term it would to call it inspirational."Tina is hoping to convert some local readers into real estate clients and some real estate clients into readers. She knows that it's hard to be taken seriously when you juggle two seemingly divergent careers. "I really like real estate. And I'm good at what I do. But I have a passion for telling good stories."As Tina points out, "The real estate market may slow down. But there are always people interested in reading a good book." Tina confirms that she's staying put, as both an author and a realtor. "I'm in it for the long haul, as a writer and as a realtor.". |
